Abstract
|
|
|
1. Treatment of tuberculous spondylitis is most important in Korea sines the disease is so prevalant here.
2. Literature on pathology and tretment of tuberculous spondylitis is reviewed.
3. Many different surgical approaches according to the levels of lesion are described in detail. In all cases, eradication of focus, insertion of strut grafts between two healthy vertebral´s bodies found to be a very successful way of shortening the recumbency pariod fram years to months.
4. The results of anterior spinal fusion, performed on 25 patients, are discussed.
5. Anterior spinal fusion, resulting a bettor under-standing of the relationship between pathology and clinical manifestions, is likely to lead to the solution of further problems in the future.
